Initially I developed our bath chairs and toilet supports because of my daughter, Ellen, who has cerebral palsy.

Bath time was difficult because Ellen's bath chair would not keep her from sliding down in her bath chair. This made Ellen feel insecure and uncomfortable. My wife and I were also worried she would slide out of the chair and we frequently would have to reposition her. So I built her a bath chair with two features no other bath chair had or, for that matter, no other bath chair has today. I built her a chair with an Anti-Thrust Pillow and then I made the tension of the seat adjustable. These two innovations kept Ellen, and now lots of other children and adults, in proper position so they can enjoy their baths by making them feel both comfortable and secure. These same features are found in our Elevated Bath Chairs and Roll-In Shower Chairs.

Later I developed our Bath Supports. Originally this basic design was for use in a sled. One cold winter evening while bathing, Ellen announced she was cold and wanted her sled seat. The water in the tub had not yet risen high enough to cover her sufficiently and she wanted to get down into the warm cozy water. The next evening, after knocking the snow and ice off her sled seat, she used her sled seat for bathing. Her sled seat was now her Bath Support. I refined the design by adding an Adjustable Anti-Thrust Bar and making both a Low Back and High Back version. These supports have a unique advantage in that they are difficult to outgrow. They do not, however, offer the level of support our other chairs do, but they might be just what your child needs.

Our Toilet Supports I developed because I just couldn't bring myself to purchasing the type of toilet support Ellen needed when I knew she would soon outgrow it. It seemed there should be a toilet support that would grow along with her. But I couldn't find one. All the available toilet supports virtually guaranteed that I would be buying another and another one. What a waste of money! It took a while, but the toilet support I finally developed is so adjustable it will fit just about anyone and grow right along with the user. In addition, because they are so adjustable they virtually never end up in a closet at a school or other such facility. The same is true about our High Back and Low Back Commodes.

The most recent product we have designed is the Commode/Shower Chair. What makes this chair particularly unique is the adjustable seat depth and the angle adjustment of the back. I developed this chair at the request of a rehab center whose client had very precise requirements. This chair did just what was needed.

Since we've started building these items I've learned many things. Perhaps the most important skill I've learned is to listen carefully to the users, parents, caregivers, and health professionals. Therefore we will make changes in our designs to accommodate both the user and caregiver. So be sure to also keep us in mind for solutions to tough or unique situations. We want to get it right for you.

Thanks again for your interest in our products.  We hope to be hearing from you.
